JETRO NY: Project for Expanding Exports of Japanese Hamachi (B2B)

[Expansion to Stew Leonard's and Uncle Giuseppe's, 2022 - Ongoing]

In collaboration with JETRO New York, we are executing a promotional initiative aimed at expanding new distribution channels for Japanese Hamachi in the U.S. ready-to-eat market.

Japanese Hamachi consistently ranks among the top five export products from Japan. Although the export volume and value have remained stable, there appears to be less need for promotion since it is well-integrated into the dining-out market. However, consumption of Japanese Hamachi in the ready-to-eat and home-cooked meal categories is still relatively low.

This presents significant potential for new market opportunities. To successfully tap into this, we must design and implement business strategies that are closely aligned with the realities of the American market. We have partnered with two businesses that operate takeout sushi counters on the East Coast, launching a promotional campaign for Hamachi at over a hundred locations. This initiative not only creates opportunities for new distribution channels for Japanese Hamachi but also contributes to subsequent business expansion.
